Moonstone Feldspar – Kilo Bag
1 kilo of moonstone feldspar from India, moonstone is a popular name for pearly or opalescent variation of orthoclase and plagioclase feldspar. The specimens show typical cubic cleavage, have a pearly lustre and are a pale pink to yellow colour. Ideal for schools, educational and teaching use, specimens supplied are a range of sizes and come in a strong polythene bag by kilo weight.
Moonstone feldspar, sometimes simply known as moonstone is a mineral which belongs to the feldspar group, it's name is from the fact that it has a visual 'sheen' effect when in certain lighting condition due to how the layers of feldspar form. These are comprised of two feldspar, orthoclase and albite. The mineral has been used throughout history, mostly as a gemstone, in items of jewellery. These particular specimens come from India and are supplied by weight, they come in a polythene bag weighing upto 1 kg, the sizes of pieces inside vary between 20 mm to 40 mm and also come with a card label.
