Orthoceras – Polished Palm Stone
Geological Age: Devonian
Ideal little gifts for children and young fossil collectors, genuine orthoceras fossils which have been completely polished so that they are easily visible. Orthoceras are an extinct genus of cephalopod, they looked very similar to squid, however, they had a large, rigid shell on the outside of their bodies, which was straight with ribbing. They grew from just a few mm to over 4 meters in length. These small pieces are around 5 cm in size and polished with a flat cut base. They are ideal for children who are just becoming interested in geology or fossils or as little party gifts.
