Palaeofavosites coral of Silurian age – Wenlock Series, collected from Dudley, West Midlands, UK. Palaeofavosites is an extinct genus of tabulate colonial coral; they were suspension feeders and lived in warm shallow seas. Recent and increasing evidence indicates that many Silurian tabulate corals such as Favosites and Heliolites were photosymbiotic like the modern scleractinian corals of today. They are supplied in 2 x 2″ or 3 x 2″ card trays according to their size; naturally size does vary. Each specimen is sold individually and is supplied in a card tray with an information label
