Phacops latifrons trilobite fossil specimens from France, quite small but becoming exceedingly rare to come by, these particular specimens depict a member of the phacops family of trilobite, a large family which includes many various sub species which are mainly characterised by their unusually large glabellas and also large compounded eyes, they also, more than others, tend to be found enrolled. They have been found in Europe, North Africa, North America and China. These particular species, phacops latifrons are of Couvinian, middle Devonian period and were collected in Vireux-Molhain, France. They exhibit fairly good quality and are either black or brown (depending on which of the two specimens you prefer). The first specimen, exhibits an earthy yellow colour and measures 25 mm in length, it is of a higher quality than the second specimen, which measures 30 mm in length, is black, but is partially enrolled with less morphological features being easily seen. Both specimens will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
