Potamides vagus gastropod mollusc collected from the Oligocene Headon Beds of Totland Bay, Isle of Wight. These shells are elongate and exhibit intricate detail; fine nodes protrude from the shell in a spiral fashion giving them a ribbed appearance. They are in good condition and measure between 1.5 and 3.5 cm in length. The Headon Beds in which these gastropods were found are comprised of freshwater, brackish and marine deposits but it is brackish environments which Potamides vagus gastropods favour. Each specimen is supplied in a small plastic bag with an information label.
