Specimens of cubic pyrite crystal twins from Spain, supplied in a polythene bag with an information label. The crystals would be excellent for educational use when teaching about crystal twins but would also make a wonderful addition to any mineral collection.

Specimens are available in two sizes small and large. Small pieces have a primary crystal that measures approximately 1 – 1.5 cm³ and large pieces have a primary crystal that measures roughly 1.5 – 3 cm³.

Pyrite is a well known and common mineral found around the world, commonly known as fools gold, it has a brassy yellow colour and metallic lustre, most pyrite people will see will likely be pyrite crystal beds or chunks. These chunks are made up of numerous small cubic crystals of pyrite. This is what these specimens exhibit, the excellent cubic crystal form. These particular samples are twinned pyrite cubes which occurs when two or more crystals share some of the same crystal lattice points in a symmetrical manner. In this case the type of twinning displayed is called penetration twinning which is when two or more crystals appear to pass through one another. These samples are from Spain and are supplied in a polythene bag with an information label. The crystals would be excellent for educational use when teaching about crystal twins but would also make a wonderful addition to any mineral collection.
