Natural quartz geodes or nodules found in the Sahara desert, Morocco. These particular samples are the fragments of quartz lined geodes, which form as pockets of air in magma, the temperatures difference within the pocket of air and the magma outside causes a slower rate of cooling, therefor, any minerals which being to crytsalise inside the pocket tend to by larger than outside it. These pieces of geodes were collected form Morocco, they come supplied in lots of 1 kilogram in a polythene bag with a label, the sizes of the pieces will vary between 20 mm to 60 mm and will also contain an information card. Specimens of Talc, collected from Egypt. Talc is a common clay mineral that is easily identifiable due to its greasy texture. Talc is extremely soft, with a hardness of just 1 on Mohs scale and is also the primary component in talcum powder. These specimens are pale green in colour. They come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
Orange calcite is a coloured variation of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate), it has an orange hue to it due to the presence of haematite impurities, these particular specimens exhibit a more crystalline, fine grained crystal texture in which the individual crystals are too fine to be seen, however, the crystal have grown and interlocked with each other to form a large mass, known as ‘massive’. Calcite its self is among the most common mineral found naturally, quite often as mineral deposits but also in many sedimentary rocks, either as a cement or as crystal inclusions, particularly limestone. It is well known for being a fairly soft mineral, easily scratched, coming in at 3 on the Mohs scale of hardness. These particular pieces are suitable for enthusiasts and educational use, both because of the calming blue colour and also the crystal structure and as a means to display the various colours a mineral can be found. Supplied in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag with information label.

This blue calcite is available by weight, starting from 500 grams, and is suitable for lapidary, educational and enthusiasts use. the pieces vary from 20 mm to 100 mm though most pieces will sit in-between and come supplied in a polythene bag with a label.
