Rutilated quartz mineral specimens with titanium rutiles, the quartz is a translucent yellow colour which can make viewing the rutiles difficult. These samples are available in various sizes and ideal for the more serious collector or enthusiast, supplied in a card tray with an information label.
Rutilated quartz is a variation of quartz which contains thin fibrous rutile crystals within it, often randomly orientated. Rutiles are a titanium mineral, dense and black, it is a common accessory mineral in high-temperature and high-pressure metamorphic rocks and in igneous rocks but found in very few locations around the world. These mineral specimens are of a dull, sometimes yellow coloured quartz which contain the rutile crystals.Where as most minerals devalue when they contain impurities or inclusions, rutilated quartz is in fact often prized for this very reason. These samples are available various sizes and will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
