These particular specimens are of specularite crystals in a massive form, therefore the samples have a highly crystalline texture. Specular, also known as specularite, is a variation of hematite which has a silver or black colouration and metallic lustre. This gives the crystals a sparkling appearance. These particular specimens are of specularite crystals in a massive form, therefore the samples have a highly crystalline texture. They come from Brazil and give off a metallic shimmer when held under certain lighting. Being an iron mineral, the samples are also quite dense for their size, the anhedral crystals are also loose and will leave black marks on your hands, care is advised when handling. Available in various sizes and supplied in card tray with an information label.
