Its name is derived from the Greek word 'stilbe' meaning lustre and these excellent specimens come from the famous locality of Pune, a district in Maharashtra, India. Today, it is used industrially as a refiner of petroleum, where it acts as a molecular sieve, enabling it to separate hydrocarbons.
