A genuine piece of woolly mammoth bone, from the Ice Age. These fossil specimens were dredged up from the North Sea bed along with the bones in our collection, this indicates that the area was once a vast tundra which could be walked upon. The approximate age of these samples is 10,000 – 100,000 years old, dating them to the Pleistocene period. The fragments of bone vary in size from approximately 4 – 8 cm. Samples are supplied in a polythene bag which will contain multiple smaller fragments or a single larger piece. Due to their size these pieces are excellent for smaller collections, educational use or for children.
