Collyrites elliptica fossil echinoid specimens which exhibit an elliptical (oval) shape to their body as opposed to a circular one. These particular species of echinoid were found in Sarthe, France in Bathonisan stage beds, dating them to the Jurassic period, between 168 to 166 million years old in age. They are free from most matrix and have been cleaned and prepped to allow for better observation of morphological features such as the dotted line features which represent the ambulacra. The samples are available in two sizes and vary from 40 to 55 mm in diameter and will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
