Dolomite crystal beds on a dolomite matrix collected from Cumbria, exhibiting excellent crystal structure, these mineral specimens show the typical tri-rhombohedral curved faces which one associates with dolomite. Its colour is due to hematite staining, which is often the case with Cumbrian dolomite. Once common, samples of dolomite are increasingly becoming difficult to obtain due to closure of the last remaining hematite mine, (Florence mine) some years ago. Excellent high quality British mineral specimens which we can offer in various sizes, each specimen will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
