Description
The Brunton Geo Lite Transit revolutionizes baseplate compass clinometers for professionals and students alike. Despite its lightweight plastic housing, it delivers the features typically found in larger transit models. Weighing only 68 grams and measuring 10.16 x 6.3 x 1.5 cm, this pocket-sized compass is incredibly portable, making it the ultimate travel companion.
Constructed with a robust hot-stamped baseplate of clear plastic, the Geo Lite Transit offers both durability and visibility, allowing users to view guides and maps underneath the compass. It even includes a magnifier for reading fine prints on maps. Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, the compass lid is crafted from recycled glass materials.
The compass base features a flat bottom with protractor markings, facilitating accurate route and data plotting on maps. This functionality makes it an invaluable tool for field geologists, whether professionals or students. Additionally, the model features two clinometers: a gravity-operated clinometer for dip readings with +/-2.5˚ accuracy and 5˚ graduations, and a hinge-mounted inclinometer for Dr. Clar method readings with the same accuracy and graduations.
The compass face incorporates a standard azimuth dial, spanning from 0˚ to 360˚ with +/-1˚ accuracy and 2˚ graduations. The needle utilizes the cutting-edge Brunton EverNorth magnet, engineered to resist demagnetization over time. Adjusting the declination is effortless with the tool-free mechanism. Simply pinch the compass face from above and below while moving the unit to achieve declination adjustments within a range of +/-180˚.
Designed with user convenience in mind, the Geo Lite Transit features a hinged lid equipped with an internal sighting mirror. This enables users to obtain precise bearings with ease.
