Selenite is a variation of gypsum, a sulfate mineral, selenite is transparent and is named from ancient greek wording which means 'the moon'. It often forms with a tabular glass pane, and can split along said planes, this feature can be seen in these specimens but on a smaller scale than the selenite sheets we also supply. These specimens are more of a massive form of the mineral, they come from Turkey, due to inclusions of other minerals in small amounts, have a slight dull colouraiton to them. Mineral specimens of massive selenite are available in 3 sizes and will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
