Fossil crinoid stems from Clitheroe, located in Lancashire, UK, the stems are dated to the Carboniferous period during the Mississippian stage. Crinoids are regarded as living fossils, they belong to the echinoderm family, along with other marine fauna including sea urchins and star fish, as species are still alive today, analysis of them indicates that very little of their anatomy has changed in hundred of millions of years. These particular samples are fairly large in length, between 40 to 60 mm and in diameter. Making them excellent for both collectors and educational use, as morphological features such as the stems individual segments can easily be seen with out magnification. The samples are our old stock, once they are gone, we will likely never obtain more again from this location. They will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.

Grammoceras is an extinct genus of Ammonite, which existed during the Jurassic period. Distinct due to their disc-like curved shell and distinct, thin ridges. These ammonite specimens are very well preserved, making them a perfect tool for analysis,while also providing the quality to become a display piece in fossil collections, particularly those geared towards UK marine fossils. These particular specimens are of an unknown species and were found in Illminster, Somerset, UK. They range from 1″ – 2″ and come provided with a white card tray and information label.

Geocoma libanotica fossil brittle stars which lived during the late Cretaceous period approximately 95 million years ago. The samples are preserved on a micritic limestone matrix called lagerstatten which has a fine grain texture and beige colouration. Leptopius duponti fossil weevil cacoons from the Holocene period found in Elliston, south Australia. Known informally as pixie clogs, the cacoons were spun by the weevils in their pupae stage in order to protect them during metamorphosis into adult beetles. An interesting piece for fossil collectors or educational use to exhibit an example of a ‘trace fossil’, the cacoons are approximately 50 mm in length and 30 mm in diameter and come supplied in a card tray with a label.
