These particular fossil specimens are from the lower part of the Cretaceous period, making them between 125 to 113 million years old, they were found in Austin in the state of Texas, USA. They are a little smaller than gryphea and the hinge of the shell is much more coiled, they are available in 2 sizes, small which are between 1.5 to 2 cm in size and large which are between 2.5 to 3 cm in size.
