Large Pliosaur limb bone found in the Kimmeridgian clay beds at Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Pliosaurs were carnivorous marine reptiles which lived predominantly in the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. They are easily distinguishable by children, amateurs and professionals due to essentially looking like crocodiles with flippers. The most famous being liopleurodon. This particular specimen displays the cross section of a limb bone, the exact species of which is unable to be determined, allowing for a full view of the cross section and internal structure of the bone. This has been achieved by cutting and one end of the bone, making it of great use to geologists and paleontologist, as well as serious fossil collectors. An excellent, large piece, it measures 12 cm in length and 13 cm wide and weighs 750 grams; it will come supplied with an information card.
