The Geologist’s Pendulum Pencil Magnet serves as an excellent tool for conducting tests and determining magnetism in specimens. Crafted in the form of a pencil, complete with a pocket clip and a Neodymium Magnet tip, this device is designed to streamline the process.
Featuring a Stainless Steel spring wire clip positioned at the center, the “pencil” pivots around this central holder when the magnet is gripped or a line is attached to the pivot clip.
During the examination of a Core Sample, the Neodymium Magnet at the tip is drawn toward magnetic minerals within a rock specimen when brought into proximity, facilitating efficient analysis. The body is crafted from bright orange nylon, making it highly visible. Additionally, due to the lighter weight of the body compared to the steel magnetic pens (which can be found HERE), this makes even small instances of magnetic attraction observable. This pencil magnet measures 13 cm in length, and discounts are available for bulk purchases.
We ship to all 50 states, Washington DC.
All orders are shipped with a UPS tracking number.
Always free shipping for orders over US $200.
During sale periods and promotions the delivery time may be longer than normal.

A tungsten carbide scriber for geophysical testing of minerals, performing scratch tests in the field according to the Mohs scale of hardness. Tungsten carbide is at 9 on the mohs scale of hardness and so this scriber is more suitable for harder minerals. Knurling along the body gives users extra grip and the built in magnet will allow for magnetic testing of iron bearing material. The tip is reversible for safe storage and a pocket clip allows for placing in your shirt pocket or along a notebook.

The card is printed onto translucent plastic for easy reading and comparing against grain size and texture in the field. The card includes a sorting chart, roundness scale and percentage by area images and is 149mm x 72mm, made from plastic it is completely waterproof and tear resistant.
A5 in size, the card contains relevant geological data on both sides. One side contains over 40 different sedimentary logging symbols such as ‘Breccia’, ‘cross bedding’, ‘tuff’, and so forth.. On the opposite side, a wide variety of common geological mapping symbols are printed including ‘inclined strata’, ‘faults’, ‘mineral veins’ etc. Also includes a geological time scale.
A simple easy use plunger which untilises a vacuum to draw out the infected blood and poison from venomous animal bites and stings. Simply draw back the plunger and then apply to the area of attack, press down the plunger and let go, it will then automatically create a vacuum and draw out blood.
