Bivalve (Pholadomya ambigua) from Blockley, Gloucestershire. From the Lower Lias of the Lower Jurassic. Specimen is complete, both valves are present and articulated. The shell surface has a crazed appearance.
Come in a card tray with a label. Sizes of specimens vary from 2″ – 3″

A highly polished Bivalve specimen which are approximately 6cm in size, both valves are highly polished highlighting the growth rings.
Large Bivalves specimens of Cardita Planicostata on a fine grained shelly conglomeritic matrix. Approximate diameter, 7 cm.

• Species: Gryphaea arcuata
Gryphea Arcuata are a common bivalve fossil and as such, these specimens are often used for educational purposes. These samples come from Hook Cliff in Yorkshire and are roughly 6 cm in length, found in Jurassic strata, they are 200 to 174 million years old and are of high quality, showing such morphological features as growth lines, hinges and more. A dull grey colour, they are suitable for collectors as well of fine quality specimens.
A sample of three Gryphaea Arcuata that were found joined together. An ideal specimen for teaching use.
