Specimens of Ironstone that have been collected from Breitung Mine, Marquette County, Negaunee, Michigan, USA. These specimens are a deep reddish brown in colour with some specimens exhibiting clear banding. Please note that banding is not visible on all pieces. These specimens are available in very limited supply with three sizes to choose from. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Additionally we also have one large display piece available, measuring approximately 18cm x 15cm at its widest points. This display specimen exhibits a distinct botryoidal texture on its top surface, making it an intriguing and appealing specimen to add to any collection.
Beautiful labradorite pebbles, cut and polished and sourced from Madagascar. Labradorite, a dark grey feldspar mineral, belongs to the plagioclase series and is commonly found in mafic igneous rocks. These polished labradorite pebbles serve as exquisite examples of iridescence, also known as Labradorescence or the Schiller effect.

Beautiful carnelian pebbles, cut and polished and sourced from Madagascar. The intensity of the colouration and design of these of these pebbles varies from piece to piece, but each specimen exhibits the distinctive red, brown or orange hue that is typical of carnelian. The colouration comes from the prescence of iron oxide impurities during formation. Carnelian its self is a silica mineral, a variety of chalcedony, which in turn is within the quartz family of minerals. It is known to have been used as far back as 1800 BC as a gemstone or decorative stone.

Nummulitic limestone tea light holders are a great way to display your tea lights in a uniquely textured, compact manner. Nummulites are ancient marine fossils that showcase intricate chambers and patterns. They range in size with origins dating back to the Paleogene and Eocene epochs. These nummilitic limestone tea light holders display a striking design. Despite being grey in colour, they display a range a patterns and intricacies, making them a great decorative piece. Additionally, these tea light holders are much smaller then the gypsum and quartz varieties that we offer, making them ideal for smaller spaces. Each one is circular measuring approximately 9cm in diameter, composed fully of cut and polished limestone. These tea light holders are a great way to add some antiquity and sophistication to any room whilst remaining compact.
An off white coloured streak plate made form porcelain, they are used by field geologists and students as a means of performing streak tests on minerals. This test simply involves one, scratching the surface of the tile with a particular rock or mineral, the coloured streak left behind then assists the user in determining the mineral, or minerals within a rock sample.
Specimens of Blue Calcite, collected from Mexico. Calcite is a common mineral with a variety of potential forms and colours, notable for its relatively low hardness of 3 on Mohs Scale. These specimens exhibit a pale blue – grey colour. They are available in multiple sizes and come in a white card tray with an information label.

Augite andesite igneous rock specimens from Thirlmere, Cumbria, UK which are of late Ordovician age which form part of the Barrowdale volcanic group. The samples are of intermediate composition and contain phenocrysts of the pyroxene mineral, augite, giving the normally dark blue rock a black speckled appearance. The samples are available in 3 sizes and come supplied in a card tray with a label.
