Galena and baryte (barite) from Morocco, both are two common minerals which are often found together and form as mineral veins in other rocks as well as in each other, both are extremely dense yet both also break or fracture extremely easily, sometimes even shattering into numerous pieces just by being dropped on the floor. These mineral specimens show in excellent detail baryte in its massive form with occurrences of bright blue galena veins with a metallic lustre resulting in two contrasting colours of off white and metallic blue which makes it very attractive to many collectors, these specimens come from Morocco and are available in two sizes. Supplied in a white card tray with information label.

Specimens of Galena and Baryte, collected from Morocco. Both galena and baryte are two common minerals, which often come together and form as mineral veins in other rocks. Both galena and baryte are dense minerals, with galena being a prominent lead ore. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces are of various sizes. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD.

Galena mineral specimens from the famous Coldstone quarry, Nidderdale, Yorkshire. Well known for producing excellent metallic blue pure galena samples showing excellent cubic crystal form with very little else. Suitable for collectors and for educational use, supplied in a card tray with an information label.

Gypsum satin spar mineral specimens from Morocco, which are a pearly white colour composed of high quality fibrous crystals which are long and orientated in the same direction giving the samples a silky lustre. These pieces are available in various optional sizes, supplied in a card tray with a label.

Cut ulexite mineral specimens from California, USA. A mineral similar to gypsum, ulexite is able to transmit light through its long axis, meaning if placed above an image or text, will transmit it to the samples surface as an image. Hence the name TV rock, excellent for children, these pieces are available in several sizes and will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
Specimens of Salt Pseudomorphs on a limy matrix, collected from the Triassic Aust Cliff in Avon, UK. Salt Pseudomorphs serve as important inicators of paleoenvironmental conditions. They typically form in semi arid (dry) climates, where saline water evaporates, which leaves behind cubic salt crystals. These salt crystals later dissolve, occasionally preserving their cubic imprints These specimens are available in multiple sizes and come supplied in a white card tray with an information label.

Magnesite mineral specimens from Greece, the samples are an off white colour and exhibit a somewhat botryoidal texture, formed around ultramafic rocks and metamorphic zones, these specimens are limited and will come supplied in a card tray with a data label.
Pyrite is a well known and common mineral found around the world, commonly known as fools gold, it has a brassy yellow colour and metallic lustre, most pyrite people will see will likely be pyrite crystal beds or chunks. These specimens are individual cubes of pyrite which demonstrate the signature cubic crystal structure. These samples are from Spain and are available in 2 sizes: 1 cm and 2 cm cubes and come supplied in a polythene bag with an information label.
Specular Hematite, also known as specularite is a variation of haematite which has a silver or black colouration and metallic lustre which gives the crystals a sparkling appearance. These particular specimens are of specularite crystals with an anhedral form on a massive haematite matrix. These specimens display veins of specularite within a matrix of massive haematite. They come from Cumbria, UK and are available in various sizes, each sample comes supplied in a card tray with an information label. They would be of particular interest to those who are particular keen on collecting British mineral specimens.
Desert rose mineral specimens composed from gypsum found in Tunisia, the samples are composed of numerous crystals which resemble ‘petals’ which are randomly orientated, thus giving them a rose flower effect. Specimens are supplied in a 1.5″ x 1.5″ card tray or as approximately 1 cm diameter pieces in 1″ magnifier boxes with an information label.
Rhodolite garnets in quartz and mica schist matrix from Southern Norway exhibiting bright vibrant pink coloured garnets in a white quartz and metallic grey mica schist with a start contrast of colours, these minerals specimens are available in 3 sizes and come supplied in a card tray with a label.
Baryte (also spelt barite) is a widely occurring mineral consisting of barium sulphate, they can occur with many crystal habits, in this case, these mineral specimens exhibit the cockscomb mass form, in which randomly orientated blades of the mineral occur on a massive bed. These particular specimens are a pink or orange colour with a pink bed but other colours of baryte exists, including white, buff or brown. Any barite specimen is incredibly dense, with small pieces even feeling heavier than they appear, which is surprising, considering it is a non metallic mineral. This density was how the mineral obtained its name, being derived from the Greek word ‘βάρυζ’ meaning heavy. It occurs in a range of environments and deposited via many processes including biogenic, hydrothermal and evaporation, among others. Commonly occurring in lead-zinc veins hence some of the samples contain galena (lead sulphide) as well. Over 75% of baryte extracted worldwide is used for weighting driling fluids in oil and gas exploration to control high formation pressures and prevent blowouts. These mineral specimens were mined in Mibladen, Morocco, they are available in various sizes, each specimen is supplied in a labelled card tray.
Blue lace agate mineral specimens of moderate size which clearly exhibit alternating bands of blue and white, the specimens come from Botswana and are excellent grade with minimal matrix on them. Formed through volcanic processes and the deposition of silica compounds in igneous rocks, these minerals are both important educationally and calming to look at.

Baryte mineral specimens collected form Somerset in the UK, exhibiting a bladed crystal habit or massive form, the dense specimens are an off white, yellow or brown colour due to staining from hematite (iron ore), available in various sizes, ideal for educational use.
Chalcopyrite mineral samples from Morocco, exhibiting typical yellow brassy colour with a metallic lustre. Lower grade when compared to our Norwegian stock but also includes occurrences of bornite which is a blue colour. Samples are available in 3 sizes, each supplied in a labelled card tray.
