Lepidolite mica is a lilac coloured mineral of the mica group, which also includes muscovite, biotite, phlogopite and others. As expected of mica minerals, the crystals form in sheets known as a basal cleavage, when the sheets form in large masses, they are sometimes referred to as ‘books’, due to the sheets appearing similar to the pages of a book. Lepidolite is found in quartz veins, greisens and granite. It is an abundant source of lithium, an element well used in modern technology in the present day in most of our pieces of hand held gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, cordless power tools and more. These particular specimens come from Brazil, have a metallic lustre and vivid lilac colouration. Available in multiple sizes and supplied in a card tray with an information label.
