Nummulites are a type of Foramnifera (a common micro fossil) These specimen however are large enough to see with the naked eye and are lenticular in shape. Some are known to have reached over 2″ in size. These specimens are approx 1 – 2cm in size.

Pyrrhotite mineral specimens from Evje, southern Norway, the samples are grey in colour and and have a metallic lustre which is very shiny when a fresh surface is exposed, however, these surfaces dull very quickly upon exposure to the air. Noticiably magnetic like magnetite, this iron sulphide mineral is fairly dense, was collected by staff from Norway and is available in a small size only. Supplied in a 2″ x 2″ card tray with a label.

The crystals are globular in formation with a dull green colour which is in contrast to the yellow or pink baryte matrix.
