Specimens of Rock Crystal, collected from Madagascar. Rock Crystal is the name for transparent clear quartz. Quartz is the most abundant mineral on the Earth’s surface and a major rock mineral too. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces are of various sizes.
Streak plates in a black colour made form porcelain, tough and ideal for performing streak tests, to asses minerals or mineral content of a rock sample, each plate is 45 x 45 mm in size and has a fine texture surface. Excellent for field geologists and earth science students.
Specimens of Moss Agate, collected from India. Moss Agate is a silicate mineral with a deep green colouration, but can sometimes have inclusions of white, blue or red. It is not strictly an agate but more closely related to chalcedony. Specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.
Specimens of Orthoclase Feldspar, collected from Norway. Orthoclase Feldspar is common and major rock forming mineral. It has two cleavage planes at right angles to each other, which causes the crystals to break into rhombic forms. It often has a pale pink colour but can also be white or pale grey. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.

Specimens of Garnets in Biotite, collected from Agder, Norway. The garnets in these pieces are almandine garnets, which are the most popular and common variety. Angelite is a popular trade name for a variety of Anhydrite that is light blue-grey in colour, semi-transparent, fine grained and marketed as gem material. These specimens, along with most angelite, are from Lima, Peru and were collected near the Casapalca Mine at Casapalca, Huarochiri Province, Lima Department, Peru.
Massive Biotite Mica specimens, collected from Arendal, Norway. These specimens depict a “massive” crystal structure, as opposed to the more commonly seen sheets. Like all biotite mica, these specimens are dark in colour, exhibiting a dark grey to black hue. Mica is one of the most common mineral groups, with biotite being the most abundant member. Biotite is very common in igneous and metamorphic rocks, with the dark minerals in granites, pegmatites and gneiss often being due in some part to the presence of this black mica. This massive biotite are available in limited supply so we recommend you move fast if you wish to add a piece to your collection. Supplied in a white card tray with information label.
