Rock chip trays, manufactured in Australia. featuring 20 small compartments. The trays, crafted from translucent plastic, prevent the mixing or cross-contamination of rock chips from drilling projects. The trays feature a snap lock lid, sealing it to prevent material loss or damage from water or the atmosphere. These trays remain lightweight when empty. These rock chip trays serve as an ideal storage option for various sites and are available in small to large quantities.
We are also proud suppliers of UCP Core Trays which are high quality, durable tools used for storing core samples of rock. To read more about our core trays, click here.
Agglomerate igneous rock specimens from Scotland, UK. A coarse grained, hard blocky rock exhibiting a conglomeration of various minerals and igneous material of volcanic origin. These samples formed part of the Glen Coe caldera and are apart of the upper streaky andesite unit, the exhibit poor sorting and orientation of material which indicates a somewhat violent origin but this can vary from agglomerates by location and is mainly down to the chemistry of the igneous material. The samples are available in 3 sizes and come supplied in a card tray with a label, they are suitable for educational use to show the different types of volcanic rocks produced as well as those interested in collecting rock samples.

Specimens of Epidote from Michigan, USA. In particular, they have been collected from the Laurium Mine, Osceola, Houghton County. Epidote is an abundant rock forming mineral that is most commonly green in colour. These specimens date from the Stenian period, approximetely 1 – 1.2 billion years ago. These specimens are available in limited supply, with two different size options. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Specimens of Rapakivi Granite sourced from South Finland, which have undergone cutting and polishing. Samples are available in 3 sizes and will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
We also supply Andesite thin sections for microscope study which are available to buy HERE.
Massive Biotite Mica specimens, collected from Arendal, Norway. These specimens depict a “massive” crystal structure, as opposed to the more commonly seen sheets. Like all biotite mica, these specimens are dark in colour, exhibiting a dark grey to black hue. Mica is one of the most common mineral groups, with biotite being the most abundant member. Biotite is very common in igneous and metamorphic rocks, with the dark minerals in granites, pegmatites and gneiss often being due in some part to the presence of this black mica. This massive biotite are available in limited supply so we recommend you move fast if you wish to add a piece to your collection. Supplied in a white card tray with information label.
