Specimens of Epidote from Michigan, USA. In particular, they have been collected from the Laurium Mine, Osceola, Houghton County. Epidote is an abundant rock forming mineral that is most commonly green in colour. These specimens date from the Stenian period, approximetely 1 – 1.2 billion years ago. These specimens are available in limited supply, with two different size options. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.

Specimens of Epidote from Michigan, USA. In particular, they have been collected from the Laurium Mine, Osceola, Houghton County. It is an abundant rock forming mineral that is most commonly green in colour. These specimens date from the Stenian period, approximetely 1 – 1.2 billion years ago. It forms from either hydrothermal or metamorphic origin, and is particularly common in metamorphosed basalts and gabbros. In those, circumstances, the epidote replaces the plagioclase, pyroxene and olivine. Epidote has no particular industrial uses but is still well liked by collectors due to its distinct green colouration. These specimens are available in limited supply, with two different size options. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.

Angelite is a popular trade name for a variety of Anhydrite that is light blue-grey in colour, semi-transparent, fine grained and marketed as gem material. These specimens, along with most angelite, are from Lima, Peru and were collected near the Casapalca Mine at Casapalca, Huarochiri Province, Lima Department, Peru.

An off white coloured streak plate made form porcelain, they are used by field geologists and students as a means of performing streak tests on minerals. This test simply involves one, scratching the surface of the tile with a particular rock or mineral, the coloured streak left behind then assists the user in determining the mineral, or minerals within a rock sample.
