We have a collection of rare Chrome Diopside specimens gathered from the Gusdal Olivine Pit in Åheim, Norway. Chrome Diopside is an uncommon mineral, particularly from this specific location. They feature streaks of grey chromite surrounded by the vivid green that create stunning mineral samples, perfect for any collector.
What sets our samples apart is their unique grainier, more crumbly texture, similar to our dunite peridotite samples. While many chrome diopside specimens tend to be crystalline, these specimens offer a distinct and captivating appearance.
Diopside has a range of potential applications in ceramics, glass-making, bio materials, nuclear waste immobilisation, fuel cell technology, and more. However, finding natural diopside deposits that meet the criteria in size and purity for economic mining is exceptionally rare.
Given the limited availability of these specimens, we recommend acting swiftly if you wish to add these captivating pieces to your collection. They come are available in various sizes and supplied in a white card tray with information label.
