Genuine red corundum also known as ruby. Corundum is an aluminium oxide mineral and contains traces of iron, titanium and chromium which influence the crystals colour. With a hardness of 9 on the Moh’s scale of hardness, corundum is used extensively in industry as an abrasive as it can scratch almost any other mineral except diamond. These particular samples are of red corundum and come from Madagascar and exhibit the crystals hexagonal class excellently. The samples are rough and have not been treated, yet exhibit a some what sub vitreous lustre. Available in a range of sizes, each crystal will supplied in a card tray with an information label, excellent for both serious collectors as well as educational bodies, where the samples can be used to display crystal systems.

Chalcedony mineral specimens from Morocco, the pieces belong to the quartz family of minerals and is very similar to carnelian, even having a waxy lustre, although it tends to have a botryoidal crystal habit. The pieces are blue, white, red and orange and available in various sizes, supplied in a card tray with an information label.
Specimens of Salt Pseudomorphs on a limy matrix, collected from the Triassic Aust Cliff in Avon, UK. Salt Pseudomorphs serve as important inicators of paleoenvironmental conditions. They typically form in semi arid (dry) climates, where saline water evaporates, which leaves behind cubic salt crystals. These salt crystals later dissolve, occasionally preserving their cubic imprints These specimens are available in multiple sizes and come supplied in a white card tray with an information label.

Cut ulexite mineral specimens from California, USA. A mineral similar to gypsum, ulexite is able to transmit light through its long axis, meaning if placed above an image or text, will transmit it to the samples surface as an image.
