Fluorite (also known as fluorspar) crystal beds from the famous British locality, Weardale in County Durham, UK available by weight. It is a popular mineral specimen for many, children, teachers, collectors etc, it often forms with a cubic crystal habit with the crystals being a variety of colours and sizes from deep rich purples, vibrant greens, calming yellows and sometimes crystal clear. These particular samples of fluorite crystals on matrix are vary with any of the mentioned colours. The history of fluorspar mining in the region began in 1882 and finally finished in 1999, with the closure of the Frazer Hush Mine. These particular samples are available by weight and come supplied in polythene bags, the sizes of the samples vary but in general range between 50 mm to 100 mm, but many lie in between and depict the cubic crystal beds. Each bag comes supplied with a small information label.

Specimens of Blue Calcite, collected from Mexico. Calcite is a common mineral with a variety of potential forms and colours, notable for its relatively low hardness of 3 on Mohs Scale. These specimens exhibit a pale blue – grey colour. They are available in multiple sizes and come in a white card tray with an information label.

Honey calcite mineral specimens from Mexico which exhibit a yellow to orange colouration due to impurities of iron from the mineral hematite. The specimens are crystalline in nature and can exhibit a rough rhombic form as expected of calcites. They are translucent, letting some but not all light through, which gives them an eye catching ‘glow’. The samples are ideal for enthusiasts, hobbyists and collectors and are available in various sizes. This honey calcite is available by weight, starting from 500 grams, and is suitable for lapidary, educational and enthusiasts use. The pieces vary from 20 mm to 100 mm, though most pieces will sit in-between and come supplied in a polythene bag with a label.
Angelite is a popular trade name for a variety of Anhydrite that is light blue-grey in colour, semi-transparent, fine grained and marketed as gem material. These specimens, along with most angelite, are from Lima, Peru and were collected near the Casapalca Mine at Casapalca, Huarochiri Province, Lima Department, Peru.
Massive Biotite Mica specimens, collected from Arendal, Norway. These specimens depict a “massive” crystal structure, as opposed to the more commonly seen sheets. Like all biotite mica, these specimens are dark in colour, exhibiting a dark grey to black hue. Mica is one of the most common mineral groups, with biotite being the most abundant member. Biotite is very common in igneous and metamorphic rocks, with the dark minerals in granites, pegmatites and gneiss often being due in some part to the presence of this black mica. This massive biotite are available in limited supply so we recommend you move fast if you wish to add a piece to your collection. Supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Specimens of Pink Agate, collected from India. Agate is a common silicate mineral and variation of chalcedony. These specimens are pale pink in colour with small to moderate amounts of brown agate present. Specimens are available in multiple sizes and come in a white card tray with an information label.
Fluorite octahedron crystals of varying colours from Illinois, USA. These individual crystals are available in various sizes and have been cleaved into these octahedron shapes which is done due to the fluorite minerals points of cleavage which allows it to ‘break’ in four directions. Despite this, they still exhibit, excellent, almost gem quality clarity with very minor inclusions. Such crystals from Illinois are now difficult to come by these days as the fluorspar mines in the areas have long since ceased operations, causing supply of crystals to be exhausted. The crystals are available in various colours, chosen at random. Available in three different sizes, they come supplied in a white card tray with information label.

An off white coloured streak plate made form porcelain, they are used by field geologists and students as a means of performing streak tests on minerals. This test simply involves one, scratching the surface of the tile with a particular rock or mineral, the coloured streak left behind then assists the user in determining the mineral, or minerals within a rock sample.
