Citrine crystal beds depicting a pale orange to yellow colouration, the specimens come from Brazil and are made up of numerous small citrine crystal points on a siliceous matrix. It is a pale orange, yellow or brown coloured variety of quartz, the particular colour of citrine is due to the presence of iron impurities present as the mineral is forming. Like quartz and amethyst, higher quality citrine has also been used as a decorative gemstone from ancient times, our specimens are supplied in a white card tray with a information label.

Pyrrhotite mineral specimens from Evje, southern Norway, the samples are grey in colour and and have a metallic lustre which is very shiny when a fresh surface is exposed, however, these surfaces dull very quickly upon exposure to the air. Noticiably magnetic like magnetite, this iron sulphide mineral is fairly dense, was collected by staff from Norway and is available in a small size only. Supplied in a 2″ x 2″ card tray with a label.
