This comprehensive Mineral and Ore set, more than covers the requirements for an A level syllabus and would also be suited to university students. It is ideal for those interested in geology who require a collection to aid with the identification of common minerals. Containing a total of 36 specimens, each one is hand picked by staff when the sets are made up, to ensure that the show as many mineralogical and crystalographic features as possible in text book quality, such as crystal habits, mineral forms and lustre. Each specimen is stored in a strong cardboard box with plastic partitions and also includes a colour photo identification sheet detailing the names and chemical composition of each specimen on the inside of the lid.

The specimens can be easily identified thanks to the Data sheet on the inside of the lid, which gives the name of each mineral, corresponding to where it is in the set, the Chemical formula/details, location, and a photo of the mineral.

Pyromorphite crytsals on a baryte matrix mineral specimens from Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria. The crystals are globular in formation with a dull green colour which is in contrast to the yellow or pink baryte matrix.
