A large pliosaur limb bone fossil specimen from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, found in Kimmeridgian beds which are of Jurassic age, the sample is natural and has had one end professionally cut, allowing one to view the internal structures of the bone. An excellent piece which once belonged to a marine reptile, it will make a great addition to educational and personal collections.

Large Pliosaur limb bone found in the Kimmeridgian clay beds at Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Pliosaurs were carnivorous marine reptiles which lived predominantly in the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. They are easily distinguishable by children, amateurs and professionals due to essentially looking like crocodiles with flippers. The most famous being liopleurodon. This particular specimen displays the cross section of a limb bone, the exact species of which is unable to be determined, allowing for a full view of the cross section and internal structure of the bone. This has been achieved by cutting and one end of the bone, making it of great use to geologists and paleontologist, as well as serious fossil collectors. An excellent, large piece, it measures 12 cm in length and 13 cm wide and weighs 750 grams; it will come supplied with an information card.

Various plesiosaur and pliosaur fossil bone specimens from Abingdon in Oxfordshire in the UK. These samples, of various optional sizes are dated to the Jurassic period, making them over 200 million years old, they are from marine reptiles which swam the seas during this time along side the dinosaurs.

Pyromorphite crytsals on a baryte matrix mineral specimens from Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria. The crystals are globular in formation with a dull green colour which is in contrast to the yellow or pink baryte matrix. When found in sufficient quantities, the mineral tends to be mined and used as lead ore. Available in various sizes and supplied in a card tray with a label.

Pyrrhotite mineral specimens from Evje, southern Norway, the samples are grey in colour and and have a metallic lustre which is very shiny when a fresh surface is exposed, however, these surfaces dull very quickly upon exposure to the air. Noticiably magnetic like magnetite, this iron sulphide mineral is fairly dense, was collected by staff from Norway and is available in a small size only. Supplied in a 2″ x 2″ card tray with a label.
