Its name is derived from the Greek word ‘stilbe’ meaning lustre and these excellent specimens come from the famous locality of Pune (formally known as Poona), a district in Maharastra, India. today its industrial use is in that of refining petroleum, where it acts as a molecular sieve, enabling it to separate hydrocarbons.
