Specimens of Lapis Lazuli, collected from Afghanistan. Despite beliefs of lapis lazuli being a mineral and gemstone, it is in fact a metamorphic rock. Lazurite is the primary mineral that contributes to its distinct blue colouration. Calcite and pyrite are the other constituent minerals that make up this rock. These specimens come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.

It is easy to identify due to its perfect basal cleavage resulting in it forming in thin laminae (sheets). These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Specimens of Quartz Geodes, collected from the Sahara Desert, Morocco. These specimens are the fragments of geodes with a quartz lining. Geodes form as pockets of air in magma, when temperature differences result in a slower rate of cooling and thus larger crystals inside the pocket.
