Diopside, a vivid green pyroxene mineral, features streaks of grey chromite that creates a stunning mineral sample that would be the perfect addition to any collection. Whilst many samples of chrome diopside tend to be crystalline in nature, our samples are unique as the feature a grainier, more crumbly texture. We have a collection of rare Chrome Diopside specimens gathered from the Gusdal Olivine Pit in Åheim, Norway. Chrome Diopside is an uncommon mineral, particularly from this specific location. They feature streaks of grey chromite surrounded by the vivid green that create stunning mineral samples, perfect for any collector.
What sets our samples apart is their unique grainier, more crumbly texture, similar to our dunite peridotite samples. While many chrome diopside specimens tend to be crystalline, these specimens offer a distinct and captivating appearance.
Diopside has a range of potential applications in ceramics, glass-making, bio materials, nuclear waste immobilisation, fuel cell technology, and more. However, finding natural diopside deposits that meet the criteria in size and purity for economic mining is exceptionally rare.

These specimens range from pale blue/purple to deep orange/brown in colour. They are available in multiple sizes and come in a white card tray with an information label.

An inexpensive plastic hand lens made in the USA which boasts three, x 5 magnifiers, which can overlap twice or three times to give you x 10 and x 15 magnification respectively. This hand lens is small with no sharp edges and made from plastic suitable for children over the age of 6. A white body houses the magnifiers which can fold away inside. Epidote is an abundant rock forming mineral that is most commonly green in colour. These specimens date from the Stenian period, approximetely 1 – 1.2 billion years ago. These specimens are available in limited supply, with two different size options. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Augite andesite igneous rock specimens from Thirlmere, Cumbria, UK which are of late Ordovician age which form part of the Barrowdale volcanic group. The samples are of intermediate composition and contain phenocrysts of the pyroxene mineral, augite, giving the normally dark blue rock a black speckled appearance. The samples are available in 3 sizes and come supplied in a card tray with a label.

elenite pencils are exquisite and captivating mineral formations that showcase the natural beauty of selenite, a form of gypsum. Specimens of Ironstone that have been collected from Breitung Mine, Marquette County, Negaunee, Michigan, USA. These specimens are a deep reddish brown in colour with some specimens exhibiting clear banding. Please note that banding is not visible on all pieces. These specimens are available in very limited supply with three sizes to choose from. They come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Additionally we also have one large display piece available, measuring approximately 18cm x 15cm at its widest points. This display specimen exhibits a distinct botryoidal texture on its top surface, making it an intriguing and appealing specimen to add to any collection.
An off white coloured streak plate made form porcelain, they are used by field geologists and students as a means of performing streak tests on minerals. This test simply involves one, scratching the surface of the tile with a particular rock or mineral, the coloured streak left behind then assists the user in determining the mineral, or minerals within a rock sample.
