Olivine dolerite igneous rock specimens from Clee Hill, Shropshire, UK, composed of pyroxene minerals such as augite and magnetite as well as plagioclase feldspar. The samples are fine grained and crystalline in texture with a dense weight and black colouration. Similar in appearance to gabbro and basalt, the rock samples are suitable for serious collectors or higher level education to explain the difference in chemistry and mineralogy of igneous rocks. The samples are available in three sizes and supplied in a card tray with an information label.
We also supply Olivine Dolerite thin sections for microscope study which are available to buy HERE.

Garnet peridotite igneous rock specimens found in the Gusdal Olivine Pit, Åheim, Norway is an ultra mafic rock which contains high pressure and temperature minerals such as olivine and garnet crystals. Exhibiting a green colouraiton with striking red spots, these samples were pushed up to the earths crust during the Caledonian orogeny during the Ordovician and Devonian period over 400 million years ago. The specimens are dense as expected and are ideal for children and serious collectors because of the colourful appearance as well as for higher educational use to describe deep mantle material as well as orogenic processes. The hand samples are available in various sizes and come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
We also supply Garnet Peridotite thin sections for microscope study which are available to buy HERE.

Olivine mineral specimens from Åheim, Norway, samples vary from granular to crystalline but all exhibit a bright olive green colouration. Collected by staff, olivine is a subsurface mineral which is unstable at the surface and weathers easily, making it rare. It may also contain the gemstone, peridot as well as kammererite. Available in various sizes and supplied in a card tray with an information label.
Specimens of Aragonite Sputnik, collected from Morocco. These specimens exhibit the excellent twinned crystal habit where the crystals radiate outwards. These specimens come in lots of 250g, in a polythene bag. Pieces are of various sizes.
Specimens of Pyrite, collected from Morocco. Pyrite is an iron ore mineral, however due to its brassy yellow colour, many early prospectors would mistake it for gold. This gave it the name, ‘Fools Gold’. These pieces are of a lower grade. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.

Specimens of Orthoclase Feldspar, collected from Norway. Orthoclase Feldspar is common and major rock forming mineral. It has two cleavage planes at right angles to each other, which causes the crystals to break into rhombic forms. It often has a pale pink colour but can also be white or pale grey. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.

Specimens of Calcite Rhombs, collected from Morocco. Calcite is a common mineral with various forms and colours. It is most recognisable by its low Mohs hardness of 3, and its high reactivity with even weak acids. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.
Specimens of Moss Agate, collected from India. Moss Agate is a silicate mineral with a deep green colouration, but can sometimes have inclusions of white, blue or red. It is not strictly an agate but more closely related to chalcedony. Specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.
Specimens of Pyrite, collected from Norway. Pyrite is an iron ore mineral, however due to its brassy yellow colour, many early prospectors would mistake it for gold. This gave it the name, ‘Fools Gold’. These pieces display a massive crystalline form. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces come in various sizes.

Specimens of Rock Crystal, collected from Madagascar. Rock Crystal is the name for transparent clear quartz. Quartz is the most abundant mineral on the Earth’s surface and a major rock mineral too. These specimens come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces are of various sizes.
Specimens of Aragonite Groups (Crystal Beds), collected from Morocco. These pieces range in colour from white, to pale yellow or light brown. They exhibit a botryoidal crystal habit, and in some cases, almost stalactitic. They come in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag. Pieces are of various sizes.
Specimens of Chalcopyrite, collected from Morocco. Chalcopyrite is a major copper ore, with a brassy yellow colour and metallic lustre. This lustre dulls over time however as oxidation occurs. These specimens come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
Specimens of Talc, collected from Egypt. Talc is a common clay mineral that is easily identifiable due to its greasy texture. Talc is extremely soft, with a hardness of just 1 on Mohs scale and is also the primary component in talcum powder. These specimens are pale green in colour. They come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
1 kilo of brown Dolomite mineral specimens from Cumbria, UK. The crystals are often a rhombohedral shape and are on crystal beds which are a pale brown colour. Dolomite is an important sedimentary and metamorphic mineral, found in dolostones and metadolostones, and as an important mineral in limestones and marbles where calcite is the major mineral present. These samples are supplied by weight in lots of 1 kilo and come supplied in polythene bag with an information card, suitable for large quantities with an economical price.
